Third Annual Tartar Sauce Fishing Tournament and Fish Fry!
This fundraiser consists of 2 parts. If you want to test your angling ability, you can grab a partner and head out on a boat to try and catch the biggest fish you can in any of 5 species. Each Species has its own cash prizes, and you can win in multiple categories! If you get a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place fish in all 5 species, you could win an additional $1,500 bonus. (See rules and details below)
If you prefer to just enjoy the delicacies of the catch, you can join us for the Fish Fry and Auction! All the fish are locally caught and prepared by our very own Drew Wilson. Mouth watering goodness!
Place: Shady Creek Marina at El Dorado Lake.
Time: Fishing starts at 7 AM. Captains Meeting at 5:45
Weigh in: 3 PM.

Tournament Details and Rules
Cash Prizes: Cash prizes will be paid for placing fish in 5 species by weight. Walleye, Black Bass, Crappie, Wiper, and Catfish. 1st place for each species - $500. 2nd place for each species - $250. 3rd place for each species - $150.
Teams: You may enter alone or with a partner of your choice. No more than 2 person will be allowed in a participating boat during tournament hours.
Captain Meeting: At least one person from a team must be present at the captain meeting and remain until the meeting is dismissed unless approved by the Tournament Director.
Fishing Hours: Takeoff will begin at 7:00 am. or as soon as the first boat number is called. Poles out of the water and boats within the breakwater at 3:00 pm. A (1) lb. penalty will be assessed for each minute a boat fails to be within the designated breakwater. If a boat fails to return within 10 minutes, that boat will be disqualified from participating in tournament placement. If an emergency or mechanical failure occurs, immediately call the tournament director at 316-371-9500 or KDWP. Once a boat has weighed a fish, the team may not return to fishing.
State and El Dorado State Park Laws: Teams must comply with all State and boating regulations throughout the day, including P.F.D.'s and kill switches. Fishing, boating regulations, and licenses are the responsibility of team members. State fishing laws and boating regulations supersede tournament rules. Violations of State or Lake laws is grounds for disqualification.
Fishable Waters: Fishing within 50 feet of a competitor's anchored boat is prohibited.
Methods and Baits: All baits and methods of fishing are allowed if in accordance with Local and State laws. Actions in violation of these laws are grounds for disqualification.
Life Jackets: Life jackets or PFD's must always be worn while your combustion engine is operating above idle speed. Kill switches must always be properly attached when the combustion engine is on. All State and Local rules supersede tournament rules.
Live Well Checks: Live Well checks will take place at the discretion of the tournament director. Live Well checks are permitted upon arrival, once checked/approved by tournament official, the participants boat may be launched. Boats must remain inside the boat ramp no wake buoys until the team number is called for takeoff.
Fish: Teams may weigh-in 3 fish for each of the 5 species; Crappie, Walleye, Wiper, Black Bass, and Catfish. Wiper and Black Bass may be weighed with a one-half lb. deduction for a dead fish. Crappie, Walleye, and Catfish must be alive to be weighed. ANY fish not meeting local slot and or length limits will count as a 1 lb. deduction and will not be weighed. A team presenting an "illegal" fish will then be limited to 2 fish of that species with the afore mentioned 1 lb. penalty applied to the next largest fish of that same species.
Conduct and Sportsmanship: This tournament is designed to be competitive but also fun for those who choose to participate. It is our hope that this tournament is enjoyed by the teams that compete and with that we have a high standard of sportsmanship, honesty, courtesy, conservation and conduct. Unsportsmanlike conduct can be grounds for disqualification if circumstances require and will be at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
Tie Breaker: In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by a coin flip. (Best 2 out of 3).
$1,500 Bonus: If a team has a placing fish (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) in all 5 species they will receive a bonus prize of $1,500. If two or more teams qualify for the bonus prize, the winner will be decided by the total weight of all 5 placing fish.
